Please help! My hands, arms, stomach, thighs, & feet are all swollen and puffy. I know it's not fat because it feels almost like a water balloon. I have gone from a size 7 to 13/14 in just a year and have gained 40 lbs. I have not changed my diet or eating habits...if anything I am eating healthier than I ever have. The doctors cannot seem to figure out what is wrong, and just give up. I'm tired all the time, and my muscles ache. I had a kidney stone a few months ago, but everything started before that. Does anyone have any advise on what to do from here? It's becoming very frustrating.

I have had my thyroid checked, blood sugar, & have had a urinalysis done to check my kidneys. All came back ok. I've also tried taking water pills and drinking about 1 liter or more a day for two weeks...I didn't pee any more than I usually do.

Go to a different doctor.....Could be heart problems, kidney problems, electrolyte disorders, and by the way, your thyroid levels can come back normal and you could still have a real thyroid problem. Look up Hoshimoto's thyroiditis.....Keep going to doctors until you find one who can help you, something is definitely wrong......Lots of Luck

I am going through the exact same thing. Have they checked your heart, kidneys and liver function? This all must be done. It is very important. The water pills and elevation did no good for me either. It is very frustrating. Hang in there and don't give up on the doctors. Kepp going from doctor to doctor until you get some answers. That's what I am doing. My legs, feet and ankles are swollen to about 5 times their normal size. It is very bothersome. It feels like every time I take a step, my legs will split open. Now, I have drainage in my left leg. Today, the doctors told me that because of the severe edema, the fluid in my leg is trying to escape because of how severe the swelling is. He wants me to go to a dermatologist, because he is afraid that I will start getting sores where the legs are draining. I hope yours does not get this severe. I have to use a walker (for 17 months now) to get around, because it is so da** painful to walk. Also, my doctors have placed me on 100% disability. So, I have had to file with Social Security Disability for benefits. Life is not so good right now for me. Best of luck to you and May God Bless!

Have the doctors checked your thyroid? Grave's disease is an over active thyroid gland. It might be the cause of some of your symptoms. This link has info about it.
