The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. This is a quote by Thomas Paine. Fear is a control machine. If this young man is a threat to you report him. Stand up for what is right.

First of all, you were joking and he was overreacting, which is typical high school behavior. Think of him as an idiot instead of a threat. How stupid could a guy be to talk that way to a girl because of a simple statement you made. (I assume you're a girl-your avatar) If he ever confronts you again...then by all means tell the principal. But it sounds like you just got him on a bad day if he's usually nice, don't take it so seriously. Otherwise don't go near him because he's a jerk to talk to you like that.

Stand up for yourself. The facts do not change if you ignore them. Take this to the principal.

Talk to your school counselor, and ask him or her to help without exposing to the "bully" that you confided in him/her. Good Luck. Definitely be proactive!
