My male kitten is just a few months old...he is getting snipped in 2 days. However, he has just started trying to mate with my 1 year old female cat who wants no part in it. Will he stop after he gets fixed? Or am I in for a life long problem? They are both indoor cats.

My male kitten is just a few months old...he is getting snipped in 2 days. However, he has just started trying to mate with one of my 1 year old female cat (who is already fixed) who wants no part in it. Will he stop after he gets fixed? Or am I in for a life long problem? They are both indoor cats. I also have another female cat who is the Alph over both of the other two. My kitten does not try to mate with the Alpha female....(i think he thinks she is his mother, and he tries to nurse off of her).

Is your female cat fixed too??? If so, he's definitely not trying to mate. Males cats only try to mate with females in heat. He might just play weird and your female cat will beat him up and get him to stop. I would stay out of it.

WARNING! How old exactly is your male cat. Beware of neutering to early. Most vets wont neuter before 6months because if neutered before then they have a chance of becoming blocked. They need the testoserone to let their urethra grow to full potential if not they can have lifelong problems with urinating and becoming blocked. My male cat had that happen to him and it is NO fun for them when they are blocked it is very painful and if it is really bad they have to have a catheter put in just to go to the bathroom. But if he is old enough thank you for getting him neutered. That is the best thing for him. He will probably grow out of the habit but you should ask your vet just to make sure. Good luck

Is the female cat spayed? After he is fixed, he should calm down quite a bit. He may still try if she isnt spayed and is in heat, but as long as he is fixed--you are okay.
If she is fixed, dont worry about it for now. Spray some water on him, or let her smack him.

Ok first I think this molested cat should file a report on this nasty kitten and maybe some time in the big house will straighten his tail out.

There is a good chance it is not -sex-, but dominance.
The male is showing the female that he is the boss. After he gets neutered he won't spray, but if he is bigger or more dominant, he will continue to prove it to her. But since he will have no sexual response, he will mount and maybe bite her neck and it will be over. Once they settle into a pecking order there will be less of it.

I think as long as he stays male and she female you willl have this problem but this is just an opinion. I am no expert. Maybe you can find out from a vet if there is anything that can be done.

This will all work out after the castration.
They remove both testicles entirely, they don't snip.
