No, that is absolutely not true. A hernia is when a loop of bowel migrates out of the abdominal cavity into someplace it doesn't belong. Usually this is through a weakness of the muscles which hold the abdominal organs in, which is why the most common hernias are inguinal (the groin) and umbilical (the bellybutton). The inguinal fossa is a hole in the pelvic floor, through which, in men, the testicles descend in infancy. Sometimes, a loop of bowel can also fall through this hole, and get caught. The danger lies in if the bowel loop becomes strangulated, that is, it's blood supply becomes interrupted. Then you risk rupture of the 'incarcerated' or trapped, loop of bowel, and that can cause infection, bleeding and death.
Hernia repair is done with a biologic mesh, and is a relatively simple operation. Hernias do not usually affect fertility in men, unless the testicle also becomes strangulated by the trapped bowel loop. that is extremely rare, and in any case, the man's other testicle is unaffected, which means he is still fertile.
If you want to check out the fertility of your boyfriend, simply have a sperm count done. If he has live sperm, he is fertile, regardless of what you think the doctor said.

What- he's raising a race of mutant cryptorchid people! Or monorchids? He should definately not be bred! He is passing on the gene for this dominately! Lose him and go back to your husband! Obviously this boyfriend of yours is a plague to your sister-in -laws and you, leaving his "mark"! The guy has had sex with your husbands sisters and now you have little one ball or no ball nephews!
