A while ago, i was put on the anti-depressant Welbutrin XL. I recently stopped taking it and my anger level has gone through the roof! i have been yelling at everyone and getting pis*ed at everything. Are these related like i think they are?

Yes, yes and yes. Welbutrin is know to relieve anxiety as well as act as an antidepressant. Why did you stop it? A lot of people feel so good that they think they are cured but it's the medication that is making them feel so good. See your doctor and if anger is a constant problem, think about paxil, a mood stabilizer or the addition of klonepin.

Yes. I missed only a few doses (I am on a combo of Welbutrin XL and BuSpar...) and it made my personality do a 180. You want to make sure that it's okay to go off of it cold turkey, if it isn't your doctor will probably ween you off of it...

good luck...

This behavior is definetely linked to your not taking your meds. You should have weaned yourself from this medication slowly---not suddenly. Also, you should talk to your doc about your meds and why you don't want to take them.

fyi, bupropion is not an SSRI. it inhibits reuptake of two other neurotransmitters (dopamine and norepinepherine).
