The general rule of thumb is 1/2 pound of meat per person, but it you have a few meat eaters that are coming to supper, then I suggest that you purchase a 6 pound roast. You may have some left overs but roast makes a wonderful sandwich, but at least you will not be embarrassed by running out of meat. Good luck and happy eating.

I'd buy about 9-10 pounds of it, just to be on the safe side. I'm sure with a few good varieties of appetizers and side dishes it should be plenty.

You would want 1/4-1/2 lb per person.
