Mostly it only bothers athiests and--you guessed it--Christians! The vast majority of people of other faiths don't care at all. In fact, a group of Muslims in England made a statement saying that Christmas was just fine--they don't want people thinking it's their fault that it's so politicized. Really, it's mainly Christians who believe that they might be offending someone, along with some athiests who are offended by religion in general.
I'm not Christian, but...
Merry Christmas.

Nah... they simply want to "feel" more important than they really are.
The notion of Christmas has been been "with us" for TOO MANY generations and centuries now that it qualifies to be scientifically counted in our DNAs already.
Don't get me wrong. It's great that more and more people are becoming aware and informed of its background and how it all came about in the first place... and it's merely a matter of setting the history records straight, is all.
Otherwise, there shouldn't be any problems wishing ANYONE a very "Merry Christmas!" indeed, since the message that it carries along with it is "Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All Men..."
Peace be with you!

Merry Christmas doesn't bother me. What bothers me is how people react when I respond with Blessed Yule.

as far as I can tell, it doesn't.
The only time I hear it mentioned is when someone DOESN'T say "merry christmas", choosing instead to say "happy holidays".
That really seems to get some people all bent out of shape.

I'm not a Christian, but it does not bother me when someone tells me "Merry Christmas." I see a positive message more than a religious commandment in such a statement.

Strange how it did not bother anyone before but only recently when the PC brigade got on their high horses, and now the pagans use it as a stick to beat Christians with.

Merry Christmas! Be yourself... don't worry about others.
If you believe in Christ and Christmas, say Merry Christmas because it's you... and coming from your heart.
