For it is just as when a man, about to travel abroad, summoned slaves of his and committed to them his belongings. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, to still another one, to each one according to his own ability, and he went abroad. Immediately the one that received the five talents went his way and did business with them and gained five more. In the same way the one that received the two gained two more. But the one that received just one went off, and dug in the ground and hid the silver money of his master.
“After a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. So the one that had received five talents came forward and brought five additional talents, saying, ‘Master, you committed five talents to me; see, I gained five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave! You were faithful over a few things. I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Next the one that had received the two talents came forward and said, ‘Master, you committed to me two talents; see, I gained two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave! You were faithful over a few things. I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’
“Finally the one that had received the one talent came forward and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be an exacting man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you did not winnow. So I grew afraid and went off and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ In reply his master said to him, ‘Wicked and sluggish slave, you knew, did you, that I reaped where I did not sow and gathered where I did not winnow? Well, then, you ought to have deposited my silver monies with the bankers, and on my arrival I would be receiving what is mine with interest.
“‘Therefore TAKE away the talent from him and give it to him that has the ten talents. For to everyone that has, more will be given and he will have abundance; but as for him that does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him And throw the good-for-nothing slave out into the darkness outside. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be.’

There are countless random things in this world that happen every second. If you were given an opportunity, it's one of many that would work at that moment. You saw it, you chose to take it, or not to take it. If you don't take it, something else shows up that fills the need. What God really gave you is a nearly endless supply of choices.
God also gave you an endless supply of bad outcomes. Try giving yourself a little credit to make the right choices, instead of putting all the work in God's hands -- which by the way, conveniently lets you escape much responsibility for your choices.
If something truly terrible happened, like a loved one dying (suddenly or not), sometimes those things help you grow. Death is natural, and you have to let that person's life and death help you in some way.. by teaching or opening your eyes to the world.

God must come down once more and name his favorite religion. Right now they all claim to be that, and because they can't agree over 100 have been killed in the name of God. Isn't that enough?

Yes! God gives and he takes away to teach us not to be so prideful, etc if we start to become that way. Everything that we have is because God gave it to us, and he can easily take that away if he so desires. For me, some of my life-lessons have been taught through His teachings.

yeah, everything we have is God's anyways. have you heard the song "Blessed Be Your Name" the lyrics say "You give and take away, but my heart will choose to say, Lord, Blessed be Your name." That's from the Bible in the book of Job, Job says, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
and Job in the Bible was given much by God, but God let Satan take his stuff and give him a disease. and in it all, Job trusted God. God promises in the Bible to take care of us. (Mt. 6:26,30)
God Bless

God gives us life and charisms. Beyond that, we do with them as we see fit. Hopefully this will be in accord with God's will.
