The French Quarter is used like a public toilet and the refuse that accumulates when there is a large number of people there, they use water to send the trash to the gutters where the garbage collectors can scoop it all up, at times they don't get it all which in turn makes it sit and ripen in the New Orleans heat and humidity.

People p*ss in the streets. Ever try to find a restroom while walking in the quarter? They wont let you unless you buy something. I would argue that Savannah GA smells worse.

Because people use the street for a bathroom. I was there in 1985 and it was like that then.

They have great restaurants, but the restaurants have to throw their garbage somewhere. It is the same smell that you get when walking behind a chinese restaurant. I have not been there in twenty years but I still remember. Thanks for the memory.
