1000 = mil
1424 = mil cuatrocientos veinticuatro
2007 (next year): dos mil siete.
It's not common to count in hundreeds, for instance, 1500 it's not quince cientos (as in English fifteen hundreeds), but just mil quinientos.

Asteroid is sure to hit that will hold massive destruction within that time a few or so time. The planet had been hit by big asteroids with us on it more than once and even in the 1900s; Syberia. 1908 the Earth, Syberia, was hit with a meteor that had 500,000 tons of iron, nickel and many other ores. That destruction destroyed 105 miles of forest. In 1947 another meteor hit that was several thousand tons and exploded high above showering another forest, Kodar, with hot iron. And that is Syberia alone. So imagine one that of the size of America or China or Russia hitting the Earth. The asteroid belt is a dangerous thing, and Saturn and Jupiter can't protect us by getting in the way of all of them all the time. I am sure there will be droughts and because of that fires will consume a lot. Flooding will consume a lot. Erosion will continue and formations will change along with platonic plate shifting that happens, continents will be moving as they are now at incredible slow paces each year, so multiply by a thousand by the average movement of the continental plates. Venice will be a huge lake; ocean levels will rise, and lower. The Earth gradually rotates closer and closer to the Sun each year by few 16ths of an inch each year and the moon tends to drift a little further too. So waves (that can cover half the country), hurricanes(as big as multiple states), tsunamis(country wipe outs), horrible lightning storms(ground hitting constantly), hail (hail starts out the size of houses before it hits our atmosphere and slowly degrades away from the heat and wearing through our atmosphere) and tornadoes will be very, very dangerous. Our whole ecological system will have to adapt, rather violently, with the moon's new distance from Earth than that of now. Some animals will have gone extinct. Humans may, or may not, have become as advanced technologically, economically or parasitically as we do now. Either kill ourselves out or broaden ourselves; most likely kill ourselves out in a whole. So yeah, a thousand years will be of that. For a shot in the dark. . . I say look back in the middle and dark ages to see what life would be like.

400= cuatrocientos
20= veinte
4= cuatro

Same as English. You go unit by unit.
For example 1424 in English, One thousand four hundred twenty four
In Spanish, Mil (one thousand) cuatrocientos (four hundred) veinticuatro (twenty four). Add 'em up: mil cuatrocientos veinticuatro

Jaime is right.
And anyone who took Spanish courses for four years should know that the blend "qua" is not used at all in Spanish. The proper spelling is "cuatro", not "quatro".
