The true Christmas present
The width that the gifts take and the place that they occupy are such as the festival of Christmas ends up appearing only as the festival of the gifts. However, each one feels at the bottom of him, that to celebrate Christmas it is necessary another thing that simply to exchange tangible properties, that the gifts are not enough to have of Christmas fun the festival of Christmas...
Christmas, the festival of the gifts?
Weeks before the Christmas Day, the preparations of the festival start: the fir trees are drawn up on the places; the streets and the frontages cover decorations and the stores fill of gifts.
A fever also seems to seize everyone, a fever which has as a name "gift". Indeed, they monopolize all the thoughts suddenly. Which gifts to offer? Where and when to buy them? How to make them? One is delighted, one prepares, one packs and labels. When finally the so much awaited day is there, it is the great exchange: one offers, one receives, one thanks oneself.
The width that the gifts take and the place that they occupy are such as the festival of Christmas ends up appearing only as the festival of the gifts. However, each one feels at the bottom of him, that to celebrate Christmas it is necessary another thing that simply to exchange tangible properties, that the gifts are not enough to have of Christmas fun the festival of Christmas.
Moreover, like a nondesired guest, after the euphoria embarrassing it question appears: at the bottom, which was the aim set in this evening of Christmas by offering all these present? Which was the direction of this great exchange?
Why are gifts offered?
The goal or the direction of the gift is to wake up the joy at that to which one offers it. The fact of offering is thus diametrically opposed to that of selling. In the sale, one awaits a material or monetary counterpart. By offering a gift on the other hand, nothing is required in exchange, nothing is not awaited in return. The compensation is provided by the joy which one can test to see the happiness of the other.
he gifts are generally offered to celebrate or commemorate an important event, a birth or a marriage, and to bring thus a surplus of joy. Nevertheless, the present are also offered apart from any particular event, for example to help somebody in the need.
For the Christmas presents, these two aspects take into consideration: in Christmas, a great event took place, but also a large gift was received by somebody in the need. The great event, it is the birth of Jesus; the person in the need, it is humanity. But the large gift, which is it? Here, we carefully should establish the distinction between "the gifts" that we are offered to Christmas and "the gift" which was offered to humanity to help it in its spiritual distress, the Christmas presents not being perhaps there, after all, which to point out "the true Gift to us".
Which is the true Christmas present?
One often intends to say, and to even teach that the Almighty offered his Son to humanity in order to repurchase the sins of the world. The true gift of the festival of Christmas would be thus Jesus, without the crucifixion of which our sins could not have been erased and our assured safety. This sacrifice would have been necessary to help and save the men empêtrés in their errors.
One is posed in disorder celebrates, when in full period of Christmas one starts to speaking about the crucifixion. The two events are generally well dissociated and one avoids connecting them, especially in front of the children. Felt faintness and the embarrassment are legitimate besides. How could one disturb the quiet meditation of those which contemplate the Jesus little child laid down in the crib, surrounded of Marie and Joseph and heated by the presence of ox and the ***, by the evocation of the terrible Crucifixion, of the hands transpierced by the nails, and of the slow anguish under the blazing sun?
All the children would be shocked if, the Christmas Eve, one told them what humanity subjected the Jesus child, once this one become tall.
Many adults are it also, when they take time to think of it. They feel clearly that there is something of illogical and incomprehensible, contrary bus to any concept of justice.

He wouldn't want anything except love. that was all He asked. "Love one another as I have loved you." He gave his life. the least we could do is offer our life for His glory.

funny how He was killed because he Loved...

the evergreen trees we use for Christmas actually represent something.

through the WOOD of the Cross, we were given everlasting life -- the evergreen tree lives without fading. the wooden manger in which He was laid at His birth was a foreshadowing of his death on a tree.
I guess God must like trees...

I would give Christ the one thing that I think would please him most. That would be the heart of all mankind. This is the reason that God came in the form of a man. His desire is that all come to know Him, trust Him, worship Him, and love Him.

I would give him my life and my love, which I always try to do. That is what he came for, but for each and every one of us. Also, to share about this opportunity with others ,so they can also experience what this life was made for.

I'd probably give him a bible. That way he can realize just how warped his teachings have become and make sure to right the book for himself the next time.

I would give him a grilled cheese sandwich and a slice of pizza.

After all He has gone through, how about a break.
