I had a VCR for 20 years that wore out and broke. I cannot find another good VCR. I bought a cheap one at Walmart that lasted 4 months. I bought a good expensive one from Best Buy and it lasted 1 year and 2 weeks. It had a 1 year warranty. A few people have given me theirs and they broke too. Each time, I've taken them to a friend to try and fix. He said that they don't make VCRs like they used to. Can anyone recommend a model and brand that works well?

I do have a DVD player. I have over 300 VHS tapes too. I'm not converting it all. If you don't have an answer to my question, then please don't respond.

RCA...should last a few years...mine has...you might also try yard sales and garage sales...they might have a VCR for sale and at a low price...I bought my last one at a yard sale 2 years ago and it still works...

Good luck, I tend to fix my own VCRs if there reparable, but there made with more & more plastic. So unless you go out and buy a Professional unit (up in the $1000 range) you're lackey if you get 1-2 years out of them now.

unfortunately, the VCR is being replaced by the vastly superior DVD player - which doesn't mean much when you have a couple of thousand $itting around in VH$ tape$.

$0 $orry
