No horrible idea. First of all who wants all of that green & red, christmas trees, wreaths, and christmas lights in ALL of their wedding photos?? As someone said earlier-no one will show-now if this is what you want then fine but it's too much of an inconvenience to guests. Also the cost of your wedding would be astronomical it is such a super busy time and you would be paying so much more and just end up with more headache (this is also true for Valentine's Day your cost of flowers tripples!!!) Besides the day is taken, it's Christmas, wouldn't you want your "own" special day?? Like another answerer said you would so get jipped on gifts you would get the repeated anniversary/christmas gift blahhhhh!!! Bad Idea

my fiance and i decided on season first, we knew we didn't want it too hot or too cold because we def wanted an outdoor wedding. if you might have a lot of out-of-town guests, you need to take their travel into consideration. if its in the winter, there could be snow that would keep them from getting there or if it is near a holiday, travel will be much more expensive. narrow it down to a couple months of the year and then look at the weekend dates in those months and throw out any weekends that have birthday's/holidays. that should help you narrow it down quite a bit. we were sold on saturday, june 20th next year but ended up finding out that a lot of places offer discounts for friday night weddings so we decided to move it back a day and are now getting married on the 19th instead :) good luck!

No. It is terrible and selfish. People want to be with their families that day celebrating Christmas with religion or without. Not only would it be tacky to presume your guests would want to spend Christmas with you and not their relatives, but think of the people at the venue that would be forced to work on such a sacred holiday.
Christmas is the least perfect day for a wedding. Period.

Only if you want something small with close family...most relatives and friends aren't going to travel to a wedding on Christmas day. They have other priorities and responsibilities with their family members and such so you might want to rethink things if you want a bigger wedding.

Its hectic as it is the Christmas Holiday, my parents were married on the 27th of Dec. THey saved on florals since the pointsettias were still up. I'd pick another day. Christmas isnt for weddings, plus you'd be hard pressed to find a place to hold your reception.

NO becasue there is alread something huge going on at that time and everyone will be saying "Are they crazy or just plain stupid? We all have, really, other things we'd like to do than go to a wedding on christmas." Not to mention its butt freezing cold so you can't do it outdoors, you'll have to do it some stuffy building, yes churchs are very stuffy. On top of everything the extreme lack of presents. Plus your kids will think its crazy when they're older.
Stick to summer

My personal opinion is no. Only because its a conflict of holidays....some people will want to celebrate Christmas some will want to celebrate your marriage......they won't know wether to purchase Christmas type gifts or wedding/anniversary type gifts. I've always advised my friends and relative to avoid holidays and birthdays for weddings....just seems to be to many conflicts of interest. But then again it is my OPINION only :)
*Good Luck to you and yours!*

You will be very hard pressed to find a minister to perform the ceremony unless you have a family member ordained online. Also, expect to have a very small guestlist since people won't want to sacrifice their usual traditions and get-togethers to attend your wedding no matter how much they support your marriage.

I think any day that you have a wedding on is perfect...the day shouldnt matter..only the fact that 2 people who truely love each other are getting married and will spend the rest of their lives together is the only thing that really matters..thats wut makes the wedding day perfect
