I am going crazy trying to find a dj who isn't a schmuck for my wedding. They all seem to be either really old schmucky guys who are going to play tastless music the entire time, or game show hosts. It will be in New Jersey. Someone please help!!!!!!!!

You have a tough task ahead of you. (I'm getting married in Northern NJ. near NY border). I gave up on the idea of a dj because of the "Cheese" factor. Even some of the ones in NY pretty much belonged at a high school prom. I actually went with an 11 piece band, pricey, but well worth it. Will link you to them. They also have dj's, but I really couldn't tell you much about them. Anyway, just remember this...YOU are paying THEM, therefor, do a lot of research on the type of music you want. Write up a list of songs you want, so the dj knows the way you are going. More importantly, tell him the songs you DONT want. How awkward is it going to be if they start playing "The Thong Song" at your reception? Also, tell him that you do not need a master of ceremonies...just someone to announce the wedding party and call up your dad and you for a dance (or whatever it is you want). Be very specific. For a 5 or 6 hour reception you are going to need between 50 and 60 songs. ..so I would pick out 40 of them, type it up, and hand it to your dj. Good luck on your search!

The best weddings are the ones with live music...look into hiring a 6-piece band for your reception. They are trained to (and are GREAT AT) get people up and dancing! It is a little more pricey, but well worth the money...the two things that shouldn't be skimped on are music and alcohol!!

I would try www.weddingvendors.com. I would do a search for you, but you need to enter a city. Hope you have some luck there.
