I've seen this person brush their teeth on a regular basis, chew gum, mints, everything! I've even confronted them about it before, not aggressively, but casually. They are aware of the problem as well. What can we do about it? It's sort of unpleasant to make out with them when their breath is bad. Even right after they brush, it smells! I'm so frustrated!

Brushing the tongue and flossing are also important steps in oral hygiene. If he does all that and the problem persists, he could have a cavity, gum disease, or some other oral problem.

If his mouth is clean and his breath is still bad, it's probably his stomach. Foods like garlic can cause bad breath for a long time, even after brushing the teeth. A glass of milk usually neutralizes garlic taste and odor.

Other foods, like cinnamon, parsley, and fennel, are also good for sweetening the stomach and breath.

he needs to visit the dentist. Does he smoke??? He might have halitosis.

Certain foods, health conditions and habits are among the causes of bad breath. In many cases, you can improve bad breath with proper dental hygiene. The causes of bad breath are numerous:-

1/ diet
2/ hygiene
3/ dental problems
4/ diseases

Mouthwashes are generally cosmetic and do not have a long-lasting effect on bad breath. If you must constantly use a breath freshener to hide unpleasant mouth odor, see your dentist. If you need extra help in controlling plaque, your dentist may recommend using a special antimicrobial mouth rinse. A fluoride mouth rinse, used along with brushing and flossing, can help prevent tooth decay.

Could be gum disease or some kind of dental infection--that may explain why the gum, mints, and brushing is not working. I know it's hard to tell someone they may have a problem--it is awkward for you and that person. Can this person maybe see a dentist to rule that out?? It may help. Good luck. :)

TriOral Rinse I'm NOT selling this, I use it. Had bad breathe for decades. now it's gone. Google it, read about, see how and why it works.

Some people's mouthes overproducre the natural bacteria used in the intial digestion process. It's normal, we just produce too much of it, thus the gases that cause the fowel smell. This product creates a renewel of balance in the oral cavity. It works 100%

They need to see a dentist and their doctor. It may be a dental problem or a gastrointestinal problem. Mints & brushing teath won't do a thing!

Sometimes getting a tongue scraper and scraping the tongue works. They could need to change their diet, or if they don't eat often enough. It could be medically related. If the tongue scarping doesn't work they should see an MD. It could be more than just bad breath.

They may have periodontal disease. A trip to the dentist will be a fast way to find out. Maybe they need a root canal.
