I have a Yorkie - she is 18 months old now and these supplies are great. Depending on the weather where you live you might want to get a little coat - I know its sort of geeky but Yorkies get really cold really fast in the winter. Also - only let him have the toys when supervised - my yorkie loved to pull the squeekers out of her toys and was at risk of choking on them. The last thing you might want to add - go to Walmart and buy a small pieve of fleece material. My yorkie loves hers! She sleeps under it and when chewing a "chew bone" she likes to lie on the fleece.

The harness was a very good idea, Yorkies have delicate necks and can damage their wind pipes if they pull too hard on a leash.

There is food specially formulated for Yorkies - it keeps their coat nice. My yorkie doesn't really like it so I mix it with other food. Now and then I give her a bit of hard cat food too as a "cookie" the oil in the cat food is great for her coat - it is fattening though so not too much!

Congrats on your new puppy!

Those sound great! the only thing is I would give it a less expensive bed that you can clean easily for at least the first week. I'm saying this because there is a very good chance that your new puppy is going to pee or poop on it. And since you said it was fur I'm not sure how easy it will be to clean it. Try just giving him some comfy towels or just a cheaper bed that has some of that fleece lining or something. that way if the bed gets ruined you dont have to worry about it staining or having to get rid of it since it was cheap. Anyways everything else that you listed sounds great! Also some poopy bags might be helpful when on walks or just in your yard because it can get smelly. Sounds like you covered everything and just make sure to get all of his shots in before you let him outside ( backyard is fine just not anywhere else like petco or your front yard.) This is because a lot of people and animals walk and pee and poop all over your yard. And sometimes these could be wild animals like rabbits who have diseases or just a dog being walked who has worms. If you puppy comes in contact with any urine or germs containing those illnesses he/she could easily get that sickness if it hasnt had all of its shots. Just be aware because our vets told us it is really a sad death if your dog dies because he cought another animals disease. But other than that everything should be fine! I hope you enjoy your puppy I know I did! Have a good Holiday!

That is a good start. Plus you dont want take him outside or put him on the ground outside or let him/her socialize with other dogs unit he/she has all of there shots! This includes in the petstore floor aswell. This is becuase diseases like parvo can live on the ground for 2 weeks and get picked up by your unprotected dog!
Get two types of toys, one you can play with your dog. This helps you and your puppy bound. Than toys he/she can play with by themselves.
Get a high quality food like Science Diet puppy.
Make sure the food is for puppy's!
The reason you need puppy food is becuase puppies require more nutrients for the growth.
Read the back label if you are not sure. Look for a AFFCO statement. This statement will tell you excatly what the food is for.

What a few crate for potty training and for the dog to sleep in at night when no one can watch him/her? Are also you adopting this dog or purchasing from a breeder? A pup should now not go away its mom until 8 weeks and for a small breed like a yorkie its high-quality to wait except at the least 12.

Sounds like your off to a good start, what kind of food and water bowl do you have? If you have plastic ones I would suggest that you get stainless steel or ceramic bowls because puppies like to chew and will often chew on the plastic bowls. Also try to get more than one size when it comes to toys, just because it's a small dog doesn't mean you have to stick to small or tiny toys. They like bigger ones as well when it comes to stuffed plush toys. Are you going to be grooming your puppy yourself? If so you'll need some grooming supplies like brushes, combs, shampoo, nail clippers, and sheers. You might also want to get a crate mat or blanket to go in the crate so it's nice and soft for them. Oh and how are you going to potty train him/her? If you decide to house train then you will need to buy pee pee pads or dog litter and pan depending on what you want to use.

I have two Yorkie's but that HATE the wire crates we bought for them, they were crying the whole night! So I let them sleep in my bed for the night and now they sleep in the laundry room(but they are afraid of the washer and dryer).

P.S. Try putting newspaper in corners, ends of hallways etc. until you get your puppy trained to go to the bathroom outside. (I hung a bell on my door to get outside, then I had someone train them to ring the bell with there nose if they wanted to go outside.)

The fur bed will get chewed up in no time and need to be replaced. The puppy will also need nail clippers, brushes, shampoo, treats and food.

get him some sort of brush- one with big brissles, maybe some small bones for teething, training pads- incase he needs to go to the restroom at night, spray-for the pad to make him go there, and your good to go.
