I have seen this girl in my building over the last few months and she smiles big when I see her on the elevator and when she is with friends. I have also seen her pointing me out to some of her friends. My problem is when I pass her in the hallway she will look down and not make eye contact with me. I want to get to know her but she seems so shy. She also seems nervous when I get on the elevator with her when her friends are not around. Do you think she likes me and how do I approach her?

She definitely likes you. I can be this way around guys I like, and I'm trying to change it... for this exact reason.
What ususally works with me is when guys just talk to me. Say hey, or make her laugh. Those usually help me loosen up. And even if she doesn't say much, but is still smiling, keep talking (asking her questions & stuff). If you two don't usually talk, it'll help her to become more comfortable around you.

Two ways to go about this.
1) Make a random comment, like "I sure wish I had a young nephew who I could take to the zoo. I like animals and have no one to go with." She should have some reaction to that.
2) Or maybe she just has a lazy eye. So stop staring.

She probably doesn't make eye contact because she likes you to and she is shy.. you can approach her by just saying hey and starting a conversation

nothing in particular. i generally am that person with my head down but if i am speaking loudly enough for anyone to hear then i fully expect whatever reaction may be appropriate including input from others if it is appropriate. there is no such thing as a private conversation in a public place. that includes phone calls.

Sakruda- Stop being so shy! Just take a deep breath, let it out slowly, walk up to her, Then say "Hey?". If she answers, tell her your name. You will get along a little. Then ask her if she likes you. *Yes*- then keep talking! *No*- MOVE ON!!

just be like "hey my name is kel do you want to get a drink with me after work today i'd love to get to meet you, you seem so interesting" or something like that

she's probably just oo embarrassed to be caught laughing and staring at your open fly when she doesn't have any friends to back her up.
