When and under what circumstances the Ark disappeared is unknown.—2 Kings 25:13-17; 2 Chron. 36:18; Ezra 1:7-11; 7:12-19.
Roman historian Tacitus reports that when Jerusalem was captured in 63 B.C.E. and Cneius Pompeius entered the sanctuary of Herod’s temple, he found it was empty. There was no ark of the covenant within.—Tacitus History, 5.9.
Jeremiah foretold a time when the ark of the covenant would be no more, but that it would not be missed and Jehovah’s worshipers would experience no hardship because of not having it. Instead "Jerusalem itself will be called the throne of Jehovah."—Jer. 3:16:
"16 “No more will they say, "The ark of the covenant of Jehovah!" nor will it come up into the heart, nor will they remember it or miss it, and no more will it be made. In that time they will call Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah."

In a huge government-owned warehouse along with all the other artifacts, relics, alien technology and various other powerful paraphernalia we've uncovered over the past couple of hundred years. Didn't you see Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Some claim that it is in Ethiopia, others say that it is still in one of the underground tunnels under the temple mount. Some say that the Knights Templar found it under the temple mount and took it back to Europe.

There are two sites below which claim that it has been discovered. They relate to the same person / place / discovery. It was found underground in Jerusalem. Unfortunately there isn't enough information to determine whether it is actually genuine or not, but it appears to be.

Best guess, either entombed in a hillside in or near Jerusalem, or it could be in a church in Ethiopia. Not sure which.
