In a lot of Biblical references, God is said to be talking to the protagonist (be it Moses, Noah, Jesus, the list goes on...). But how do we know he wasn't talking to the shrub and not Moses? How can we be sure he didn't tell two Gorillas to create a boat and gather two of each animal? What if the ox and lamb that kept time for the little drummer boy during the coming of Christ were the ones that should have been Jesus? How can we be too sure of anything? I mean, what if you just overhear God talking and it sounds like he's talking to you or something? Can we be sure he even made us out of HIS image? What if the duck-billed platypus was His image, and we just overheard him saying this to one of those funny creatures? Can we be too sure of anything the Bible tells us? Or should I just have 'faith'? bah... Please answer EVERY question, as I love to hear opinions of atheists, christians and everyone in between (cuz really, who else is there?)......

Well its simple, I mean unless it was some big coincidence God has always come to people and refers to their situation, the Lord allowed all those trials happen to Job, now unless some other animal named Job was going through the same situations I'm pretty sure it was the man Job, after Job went throught those trials God spoke to Job, not it would be a big coincidence that the man Job and the... wateva Job had happened to go throught the same trials at the same time and jus happen to over hear God's message at the same time. Then take the hebrew Boys from the book of Daniel's example, the King threw 3 MEN into the fire, but when he looked in the fire he say 4 MEN in the fire, and one that glowed as if He was the Son of God, yet the 4th still resembled a MAN so thats goes to show we are made in His image. and then take when Jacob wrestled with an angel, there can be no mistakes made here, the angel wrestled with the man, there was n o mistake, he changed his name, His the MANS name, there was no mistake at all. All the promises' the Lord made to people in the BIble, like Abraham, promised him many decendants and Abraham got those decendants, he asked him to sacrifice his son then stopped, there was no mistake, Abraham didnt overhear what the Lord had to saw to something else, it just doesnt work like that. I'm sorry but we were made in His image, in His likeness, Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his OWN image, in the image of God he created he him; male and female created he them"

The bible was written about the 700 B.C. by the theological class of the Juda kingdom, to justify his power. Nothing in archeological research proves Moses or Noah existence.
Few historians spoke about "christians" as a jewish sect following the teaching of a "khristos" (which leans "messiah" in greek) during the first century but nobody about Jesus. The story of Jesus was made by the catholic organisation.
There was no town named "nazareth" until Helena, the mother of Constantine 1st, (the first christian imperator), renamed an existing town named En-Nasira and built the first church in this town.

First of all we've got to get past what GOD looks like.

Man in his own arrogance has created GOD to look like man. No one knows what GOD looks like! GOD is spirit. It's obvious we have evolved and our charateristics change to suit our environment.

GOD could look like a fish or an insect. That's not the point. We're created of spirit and when GOD talks to us that's how HE communicates. Not just in words, but also in various signs. Maybe the fragrance of a flower you can smell and appreciate when no one else around you can even get a whiff of it, that's just between GOD and you.

Whatever way HE communicates with you, you best believe it's all spirit that is complete truth, wheter you like it or not and purity.

That's the best way I can explain it.
Maybe if more of us where just being still and quiet listening for GOD, then there would be less trouble in the world!

LMFAO Sho-nuff! That was hilarious!

My answer...well, more of a suggestion for you -take a Psych 4 -Critical Thinking class at your nearby community college or university.

If you are able to accept what you learn in that class and apply it to life, you may be able to avoid believing far-fetched crap just because someone says it's true-like astrology or palm reading. If you are strong-minded, you may even achieve enlightenment and come to the conclusion that there is no God, or afterlife, or heaven, or hell, or leprichauns, or unicorns,....or Santa Claus.

Good luck.

The bible is the testimony of God, about Himself, revealing Himself and reaching out to mankind. The bible gives understanding to man about God's role to man and gives understanding about mans role to God and to each other.

The bible is filled with "truth claims" from God and His promises to man. One of the truth claims given is that those who have accepted the path that God made to Him for all men, know Jesus, can hear His voice and know that it is Him talking to us. That we are hearing the voice of God is able to be confirmed in many ways. The most dominate form of confirmation is that God's written word will always validate or verify what you have heard from God. God is the source of truth. God's word is not only true it is consistently true. In the Old Testament God's primary form of communication to His people was through signs and wonders. In the New Testament God's primary form of communication to His people is that they hear His voice and He confirms what was communicated through signs an wonders.

Many of the truth claims given by God in the bible are testable and provable today. Our belief is in the word of God and that God is who He says He is. Our faith is putting into action our belief in the truth claims from God that we are not able to see yet. In other words we believe God's word to be true and stand on it. We are able to have this faith because the truth claims that we are able to verify are not only true, they are consistently true. This makes our faith reasonable and even logical since we are ruled by truths (reason) that do not change and are backed up by the ultimate gaurantor, the Living God and the Creator of the cosmos and all life in it. Who better to believe in and trust their word to be true than God?

Self-righteous (Rom 10:3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
