B is incorrect (although that would have been my first choice). Although Jefferson was a wine connoisseur and had an extensive wine collection, he never succeeded at cultivating any grapevine root stock. See "Wine and Thomas Jefferson" at http://www.burger.com/jefwine.htm.

I could find no reference to successful grape cultivation for either of the other choices. John Adams wouldn't have been able to cultivate grapes well in the Massachusetts climate and Washington also tried, but failed to establish vineyards at Mount Vernon.
