have the right to grab a secretary by the arm if she failed to comply with an order?

she was given an order but she was still busy with some papers and calls, and she forgot to do what he asked her. but still doesn't seem right for him to grab her by the arm.

as a police officer, no he doesn't have the right to grab her by the arm. even if he was having a bad day, although other things might come into play like maybe they have a physical relationship and they brought in to the work place. even so he didn't have the right to do that.

If it was a gently grasp thats one thing, but if it was firm enough to cause a mark, or if she was yanked then yea thats not cool. You should mention to him that you and your co-workers were uncomfortable.

also, he might have just been having a really bad day, or been really stressed. Watch to see if anything else like this happens, if it does then you need to tell his supervisor.

The difficult part would be getting it looked at outside of an internal review...just by the fact he represents upholding the law makes me want to retaliate....good luck...

No...it's not right....and in many states that is considered an assault if she wants to press charges.

He really needs to keep his hands to himself.
