Here in the State of Israel (or Occupied Palestine, whichever you prefer) there is no nutmeg available in grocary stores. What other common spice can I use in place of nutmeg that will still give me an eggnogy flavor.

Cinnamon, almond extract, all spice, pumpkin pie spice, apple pie spice, chili pepper

Cinnamon, allspice... anything in that category... its not the nutmeg that makes the eggnog.... thats mostly a garnish for the top...

Use ground cinnamon, ginger, mace, allspice or cloves, starting with half the amount specified and adding more to taste.

try allspice or maybe pumpkin spice also in the United States they have a canned version (borden's) not quite as tasty but, it works in a pinch

screw allspice...use oldspice. as in deoderent. its perfect.
