I know how your feeling. I had a cat my whole life and when I was 14 she died. She was my best Friend and she loved me more than anyone else, she was my kitty. She died for she was like 21 years old (human yrs) and I missed her so bad. I thought I couldn't go on. But we got 2 new adorable kittens and I hated them at 1st saying things like,"she should be here not them." But when someone passes away they want you to move on and not dwell about the past. Your new kitten needs some love too, won't it suffer if you ignore for your old cat. You will always remember your cat and love it but you have to move on. This was some advice my friends gave me, I'm very sorry for your loss and you will learn to move on and love your new kitten. :)

Give yourself time to get over feeling sad. It's normal to be sad when your pet dies. When my cat died my spouse got me another cat two months later and all I cared about was that the new cat wasn't like the old cat. I took care of him, of course, but when I first had him I couldn't feel like he was mine or that I wanted him. Now I've had him for 3 years and I can't imagine being with out him but even now I sometimes miss the old cat. You will gradually feel better and start to connect with the new cat more. I put a framed photo of my old cat (that died) on my fireplace so I could see it from time to time and it made me feel better.

No one can tell you what to feel, but it's perfectly normal and GOOD for you to enjoy your new kitten. It's part of life, when one dies another begins, and it's always better to celebrate life than to mourn death. Your poor old cat wouldn't want you to mope around forever, now would he?

Play with your new kitten, enjoy it and heal, the kitten didn't make the other one die and doesn't deserve to be ignored while you grieve.

Unplug unneeded home equipment especially desktops, TVs and the different unneeded digital kit. now could be a good time to verify for flammable aspects around gas water warmers or for oil rags. do away with components of flamable aspects and you will considerably shrink the possibility of a fire.

Believe it or not, that feeling will go away soon. Remember the nice times you had with your old friend and enjoy the nice times you're having with your new one too.
