Superman leaps from the top of a 280 foot building and spots a robber entering into a vault 4 ft. underground. the angle of depression from the robber to superman is 34 degrees. If he were to fly down in a straightline along his line of sight (through air, soil, and concrete)how far would he have to fly.

Vertical distance = 280 + 4
= 284 ft

Distance to move = hypotenuse
Vertical distance = Opposite

Therefore: Sin(34) = 284 / distance

Distance = 284 / sin(34)
= 508 m

Sin (34)=284/x
x=507.875 ft.
