I would recommend talking in a low, soothing voice around your parakeet. Never make sudden noises or talk loudly. Make sure she sees you approaching her. It takes animals time to warm up to people, but after awhile, once they know you aren't going to hurt them, they will warm up to you.

Time and patience works but if you want faster results here's an idea. You pick a signal like a whistle, clicker,or a word. Every time you use the signal show the bird a treat in your hand and reward the bird.Repetition is the key.You can approach the bird with a perch after 5-7 days and use the signal then praise the bird with the treat after the bird goes on the perch. In two days of perch practice, use your finger as a perch Use the command "Step up." when the bird perches. It helps if the bird is a little hungry. The bird will trust you and be easily trained. Have a tweet Christmas.

Just spending time with her will be the key. Sit by the cage and talk calmly to her, buy special treats that she can only have if she takes it from your hand. Place you hand in the cage and just let it set by her while you are talking to her. All these things will work if you just keep at it!! Good luck

talk to her softly each day, then put your hand in the cage while holding a treat and move your hand closer. And do that every day until she is used to it. Then she will let u pet her.

LOTS of time. She needs to get used to your hand. Start with the step up command. This will get her used to you and it also provides a bonding experience.
