A 15-20 pound turkey should do it. If you buy a fresh turkey, you can buy it the 7-5 days to 1 day ahead of time before. If it's frozen, I'd buy it 3-4 days ahead because you have to let it thaw in the fridge for a few days before cooking it.

One pound per person. Allow for thaw time. (Don't thaw on counter - food poisoning). Thaw in refrigerator 2+ days, covered with water in sink o.k.
You'll still have some left overs. 2 lbs allows for the "normal" leftover amount - means eating turkey for a week!

If it is frozen, buy it any time it is on sale. For 7 people, get an 15 pounder. You'll enjoy the left-overs if they don't eat it all

Well it depends on what type of turk you are having, are you looking at fresh or frozen.
Well ow is the best time for either before sales have dissapeared, frozen you can get any time

it should thaw 3 days in fridge before you cook it ! i always get the biggest one i can find so i have plenty left over for turkey sandwiches ! i love *em !
