I'm dredging, my memory but I dont think any vitamin converts food to energy. Vit C is definitely not it. Vit C is reponsible for holding Iron is it 2+ state, and is needed for some enzymes related to collagen. Vit E is just an anti-oxidant.

Vit B1 (Thiamine), Vit B2 (Riboflavin) and Niacin, may be what you are looking for. They are used to make substances (TPP, NAD+, FAD+ and more) that are needed in respiration and more specifically, glycolysis and the Kreb cycle. In a way, they are needed to convert food to energy. I would think it is vitamin E and possibly vitamin C.
