Alot of people speculate about Wicca. There is alot of info on the web that is incorrect. I'd like to clear things up. I'd really like to hear from people who would be willing to have YIM conversations about the issue. But if you aren't comfortable with that, let me know how I can answer you.

Allen L thinks we whine alot. Well, I'd have to say there is probably alot of whining lately about the VA Pentacle Issue. We just want our equal rights.

Well, Cyn, I know we had a long discussion about religion. But do you still have any questions about Wicca?

Wicca is not feminist as much as it is balanced in most traditions. There are trads like Dianic that are mostly if not purely feminine.
We are a recognized religon by the Federal Government and the Military in the US and alot of other countries.

It's true that many traditions believe in different things, but there is a correlation to every Wiccan belief. That is the 13 Principles of Wiccan belief

Media portrayals of magic even those who claim to be Wiccan are never accurate. I've never seen an accurate portrayal of Wicca on TV, Movies, or the printed page. So Charmed, Buffy, Harry Potter, they have little to no correlation to the philosophies and activities of Wiccans.

Why do I care what others think? The opinions of others reflects on the freedoms of a people. Right now, Wiccan Soldiers can't get buried under the Pentacle as the chosen Wiccan religious symbols. I'd like to end the discrimination of Wiccans and all minority religious groups in this country.

I know a fair amount about Wicca, but I can always learn more. I like the http://witchvox.com/ because a friend of mine, who is a Witch, recommended it to me. I also went to a Wiccan Midsummer ritual with some friends, and I had a wonderful time. I'm an eclectic Pagan, but I celebrate the Sabbats.

Wicca is one of the more tolerant religions, and it requires a great deal of personal effort, knowledge, research, and patience. These requirements reflect greatly on Wiccans.

Christian Wicca is a thriller to such a lot of. C.W. is an eclectic style of Christianity. Those who are not able to recollect every other teachings besides the Bible are very uncomfortable with this faith. Christian Wicca believes within the trinity of God the Father, God the Mother (Goddess), and the Son God Jesus. We additionally research and train the concepts of the Bible, Kabbalah, Gnostic Gospels and Wiccan teachings. Possibly the foremost idea of C.W. is their inclusion of the Divine Feminine. Basically, there are not able to be a start without a father AND a mom. We worship the Mother Goddess as having identical energy in construction. The Mother is reward in each and every element of Spiritual teachings, even the Bible. (Although you need to appear difficult to discover it there.) Also, there's a change among being Christo-pagan and being Christian Wiccan. Before you cross at the air along with your record, appear up the 2 and bear in mind of the primary variations. I would possibly not do it right here considering that it's going to effectively get too prolonged. Just recognize that they're exclusive. I am most likely criticized by means of Christians and Wiccans alike. (More so Christians. Wiccans have a tendency to be extra open-minded.) I wish I have responded a few of your questions. Good success along with your radio record....Blessings!

A little not much. Would I be interested in knowing more sure? (Confess found books tried to read bit boring tho.)

Problem is that Wiccans are way too secretive. You try and learn more or join their discussion groups, they ask 20 billion questions.

(Compare this too christians who will tell you more than you want to know at even the slightest hint of interest.)

I'm not a Wiccan or a person with real desire to become one but I'm curious to know more about it. You want to talk with somebody on it? I'm open.

For the record, religion wise, I'm a Taoist. My interpretation of this has no commitment on any of the numerous God issues; however if is 100% consistent with my religion to learn how others see the world.

What do I know about Wicca:
1) Some basis on old religions but I'm bit dubious on how much. Clearly, learn from myths whatever. (I'm actually interested in the old religions) Garner claims he got his tradition from Old Forest coven but many think he made it up; some Wiccans don't care about this one way or the other.
2) God as per average Wicca is totally different concept than Christian version. Use of the same word is practically a joke.
3) I'm not 100% what magic is quite but I have intuitive idea.

Wiccan Soldiers?
Honestly, my take is that people should have choice in that kind of thing. I've heard in US cases where athiests also complained about burial crosses. Of course, sometimes it depends on the situation. Sometimes not alot of time is available for customization. Also there do exists countries where having wiccan symbols is garantee that site will not be respected.

I have 5 books on Wicca, 5 different writers, all books have the basics about the same but most go waaaay off from each other.

I've had long convos with self proclaimed "witches" and Wicca folks. again very seldom do they "click" outside of their own group, with other groups of Wicca.

so what i don't know about Wicca is this...

why when you put 50 Wicca in a room and ask 1 question do you get 87.32 answers?

is there anything aside from the reed, that most seem to support that's constant among all?

exactly what part (if any) do you think Aleister Crowley played in the working of modern Wicca?

you admit there's many sites giving bad info, what makes you think you're not following "bad info"?

oh heck i could do this forever.

Well, I'm a Druid. I have a friend who says he's Wiccan but bases everything he knows off of what he watches on that TV show, Charmed. I know there are loads of things wrong with that show and how they depict the Craft. I'd love to talk Wiccan sometime with you, but I'm not sure if you'd be willing to talk to a Druid about it. It's up to you. I'm very open minded about it. Anyways, keep up the good work of informing people about the Pagan faiths.

bluefire, the problem with what you just said is that every Wiccan Tradition is different and what you may consider to be "truth" another Tradition may consider false.

Which makes this assumption no better than a Christians.

One of the beautiful things about Wicca is that there are very few "must do's" in the religion.

The only things required is a belief in the god and goddess (and not even that they are personifications of anything. To me they're simply the concepts by which we understand the duality of the universe), a deep respect for nature, and belief in the Harm None and the Threefold Laws.
