My mother-in-law just lost her husband 2 days before Thanksgiving and it's so heartbreaking watching her go through the pain of letting him go, for him, she was 'his everything' and could do no wrong. It was a second marriage for both and lasted a wonderful 18 years. Because it was so un-expected, I would first wish for healing and acceptance, and then I would wish that I could give her one more day with Norm, to say to each other anything left unsaid, to hold one another again, and to let go with pure love and peace for both of them.

Most men who are married give presents that they think she might need so why don't you have her list a few things that she might want. My-ex mother-in-law...had 5 boys so she did without most of her life so there were times I was creative...Like cross-stitching a welcome sign in her colors, and other times it was a night out to a restaurant. I bought a ticket to Catalina for her and my fathe-in-law...they loved it. My sister had her husband cut an angel and tole painted all the names of the children and grandchildren on it.

These answers are funny ... !

Well since I truly love mine & she did get me a new cell phone, blue tooth, carrying case, USB cable ... memory card ... etc ... plus new service ... I got her a new ipod with the am/fm transmitter for your vehicle - she's a bus driver so it works great while she's driving around the screaming kids ... I also want to get her a spa package somewhere close by ... so she can sit back, relax & get pampered ... !
