Question is based on my understanding that "all life is held to be sacred" in Hinduism, so I assume pathogenic bacterial life is also sacred (?)

the body naturally kills millions of bacteria when you get sick, even without antibiotics. The principle behind hindu vegetarianism is that people should cause as little damage to other life as possible, because an individual has no right to take away another organism's life. however, humans need food to live, so hindus eat plants (vegetarianism) because plants are lower-level organisms compared to animals so it is not as bad to kill them. i dont want to give a lecture, but the simple answer to your question is yes. Hindus will use antibiotics.

Hinduisms main religious scripture is bhagwad gita and main thing in gita is Hindu god Krishna ordering to his student Arjuna to wage a war against enemy(who wanted to kill Arjuna and not ready for a truce) and forget about result even if it is death of some people(philosophical massage is you have to do certain "karma" without fearing outcome,gita basically is a philosophical scripture ) so in Hinduism if enemy want to kill you and not ready for a truce you have to wage a war so enemy bacteria want to kill you and not ready for truce there is choice for Hindu to wage a war and kill them

Just like with Christians or any other religion I believe there are varying degrees of strictness. Jains are extremely strict but I believe the majority of hindu's would indeed take it. You are killing germs every time you bathe or brush your teeth....do you expect hindu's to never bathe?
