Many people get dark circles under their eyes for a variety of reasons. Illness, malnutrition, fatigue, substance abuse, heredity, and normal aging can cause the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. When the condition occurs as part of the aging process, it is more prevalent in people of Mediterranean and Asian descent.

Dark circles, known as allergic shiners can indicate nasal congestion or vasodilation (increase in the size of veins) around the eyes, or a 'nasal crease' experienced by people with hay fever, or as an allergic reaction to one or more foods.

If you feel ill, or are experiencing any other symptoms it is worth getting yourself checked out.

ok, well if you have fine lines or wrinkles under your eyes along with the darkness and puffiness then DO NOT use concealer because it just makes it worse, which i wish some1 had told me earlier :) anyways, i haven't tried it myself but I've been searching online and everywhere I go people are reccommending the Arbonne RE9 nutrimin corrective eye cream, so I think I'm gonna try it. Also some at home remedies are, chilled cucumber slices, potato slices, or chamomile tea bags on your eyes for 15-30 mins every day but make sure they r CHILLED!! You can also try frozen metal spoons or a washcloth with ice for 15-30 mins. you can also break a vitamin-k pill and use the oil inside and rub it on ur eyes or, oddly enuff, preperation H cream because it works to strengthen capillaries which reduces the appearance of dark circles and also reduces soem of the puffiness GOOD LUCK and remember that not everything is goin to work right away, you're going to have to give it some time, sometimes even a few weeks, but dont give up!!!!!!

While waiting for the Avon product to work, if you choose that route, I use True Match Concealer by L'Oreal. It works better than any others I've found.

Dab it on under you eye and wait a few minutes; then pat foundation over that to blend.

Avon makes a product that will make your dark circles almost disappear. I have the same problem and have been using it now for several months and they are completely gone. ANEW CLINICAL Eye Lift is the name. Works wonders!

Tell people you have been injected with racoon DNA. No seriously, you need to go see a dermatologist because what you have is definitely not normal and may require a surgical procedure to correct. You can cover it up with makeup, but what you need to do is treat the underlying problem, not mask it.
