Check out the web site of The Stuttering Foundation of America. You will find a world of information on stuttering, a newsletter, referrals to specialists in your area, online videos, and can check to see if your library has any of their materials. If your public library isn't listed, let them know they can get free Stuttering Foundation materials for you and others to check out. Check out the section "brochures for all ages" as they can be downloaded and printed out to give to others like teachers and employers.
They have a book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" that you might see if your library has or you can order it from them.

I don't know what it is called, but there is a small device that fits into the ear like a hearing aid. It repeats your speech at a very slight delay causing the stutterer to hear himself as if someone were reading text with him. For whatever reason, it stops the stuttering. Sorry I do not have more details.
Edit: Did a search. The device is called "speecheasy"
