I think maybe don't think like... ''What would a blind man like?'' Think of a present which you would like someone to have and then decide whether it is suitable. I have a blind sister in law and that's how I decide her presents (This year, I got her a vanilla body shop gift set). Think about what he likes to do, or what his hobbies are, his interests, or something he's mentioned he needs a new one of. If he's into Jazz, let us say, then get him a Jazz CD. It shouldn't make much difference in buying things, because he still has four other senses.
Music, Audiobooks, Bath or fragrance set, clothes, like a jumper or slippers or a scarf and gloves set or whatever, Gift Cards or money, then he could choose what he wants, a bottle of his favourite drink, or a box of nice chocolates.

If you still don't have a clue after all these comments, just ask him what he would like!

Hope you have a flash of inspiration! x

Books on tape is a good idea.
You might also try calling your local Blind Society for suggestions.
A blind friend of mine loved poker and had a Braille deck to use for his games. I know TWO blind Scrabble players. If he is interested in that, a Braille Scrabble set would make an awesome gift. There are probably orher games that come in Braille editions.
Gifts of food, music, clothing are aiso great ideas.

Music, a lot of blind people have a very keen sense to hearing. I'm sure he would love a cd, or musical instrument he can learn.

Sunglasses.

Funny as it is, no I'm not being a dick this time. Lots of blind people wear sunglasses, and well... it's probably tough for him to pick a pair that looks good.

How about some nice music CDs? Even relaxation music, or some educational material he might enjoy (there are all sorts of courses available).
