Can you assist this cat in expending his energy? He's young still. Buy a laser pointer and use it to make your cat do some mad running around trying to chase it! The reason the homeless kitties are not as crazy as yours is because they aren't happy and healthy and it sounds like your baby kitty is. He'll calm down in good time.

Getting him fixed will slow him down a lot, though it may take a little time.

Try getting him a "cat condo" or something he can climb on. Hang some toys from it with string to play with. Get him some toys to play with, or better yet some interactive toys like a laser light you can shine around for him to chase, or a "kitty fishing" ball of feathers on a string that you can drag around, he'll use up some energy chasing things like this. My cat loves to play with rubber bands, I flick them at him so they "bite" him and he spends the next fifteen minutes flinging them all over the house and chasing them (he's learned to flick it by holding it with his paw and drawing it out with his teeth -- he lets go and it flies across the room to be chased). Maybe your cat(s) will like them too.

He'll also naturally calm a bit as he gets older. Then you'll wish he had the playful energy he did when young ;) Just enjoy it while it lasts!

Give Mario cat toys to play
with. He is still a kitten, he
love to play with toys. He
will calm down. The toys
will tire him out. Give him
a chance. I have four male
cats. good luck.

He's still a kitten, so he still has a kitten's energy. The neutering should help a little bit, but only age will calm him down.

it might slow him down but it might not stop him...he's 6 months old right?Well i have a 3-5 month old kitten that cant stop bouncing off the walls! The kittens are hyper when they are young.(trust me my 3 year old cat hates him..)So...getting him fixed will slow him down but it may not stop him...

I'd be worried if Mario wasn't full of energy. keep toys around for him.
