Usually once a year we consider it young. Some breeds do mature much slower and any dog should have plenty of puppy left inhim at a year.

Yes they are still a "puppy". In what way are you asking? that sounds weird but... Do you want to know if they are still hyper like pups or if they should be on puppy food? Depending on the breed i guess is the right answer. Larger breeds tend to age different than small breeds. A Labrador doesn't mature in it's body or mind for that matter until about 2. Smaller breeds tend to mature faster. Most dogs still are a ball of energy at a year old. Good Luck!!

A one year old is still a puppy and should be fed puppy food, typically till 18 months.
Major growth is done in the first year, however dogs continue to develop and "fill out" till they are 2-3 years old.

According to my Vet, dogs are puppies until they are two years old . My Vet and his 2 other Vets agree. They've been in business for many years. The older Vet took care of my 3 dogs, and ultimately for one that got pregnant with 6 pups!! What a interesting experience that was! They are now my last word on my 1year old King Charles Cavalier.

Physically, no. They are usually full grown by 1 year and should be switched to adult food.
Emotionally, yes. Your dog will continue to "act" like a puppy for at least another year (or more) depending on the breed.

It depends on the breed of dog. Some breeds reach maturity at a younger age than others. Larger dogs tend to reach maturity at 1 year to 2 years of age. Where as small dogs tend to reach maturity just before a year or at a year old.

At one, your dog will still exhibit puppy behaviour. But in terms of feeding and exercise - he is considered a dog. Be patient...just a little longer, and you'll have a dog instead of a puppy!

Many dogs continue their puppy "behavior" well into their 2nd and 3rd year. It just depends on the breed.
As far as full grown, I think many dogs reach their height by one year, but then take a lot more time to completely fill out.
I'm no expert though....
