You MIGHT, but you WILL be on the front lines. You are better off getting a GED (It is really easy) and getting the military to pay for your college.
Good luck, and thanks on the behalf of all of us for protecting our country!!!

Nope, you need a GED at a minimum. If you didn't finish high school I would say that joining the military will change your life so you should do it. Get your GED then join up. When you get out use your colleege benies to get a degree. Don't worry about having a GED and going to college because when you are 26 and considered a non-traditional student the collegs won't care that you have a GED. You may be able to go before you are 26, but I know for a fact that once you are 26 there will be no stopping you.
I know very few people who didn't like the brancgh they picked, got out and joined another so be careful on which one you join and try to make an informed decision because it'll be your life for a few years. I'm an Army Vet and enjoyed it, but I think if I was joining for the first time and it was 2006 I'd join the Coast Guard...only because I got tired of all the deployments..but some people enjoy them.

While the other branches require a minimum of a GED, the USMC actually require a high school diplome, as a friend of mine discovered after getting his GED to go into the service.
High school completion is required for active service and/or reserve duty.

No, you must have one or the other. Even then, each branch of the service only allows a certain percentage of GEDs to enlist. My suggestion - go back to school and get the diploma. Many high schools now have local outreach programs and night classes to complete your education. I have linked the requirements below.

NO! Unless they enlist the draft where everyone has to go. Plus you have to make the cut. You can't score under 50 in a test they give you. If you score under 50 then you can not join the military. I don't know where the national guard standing is on the rank test.
Air Force expects the highest score
Navy
Army
Marines
For any special units in a branch you have to place higher then standard.

You are considered a non-high school graduate candidate if you are neither a high school graduate nor an alternative credential holder (high school equivalency). It is extremely rare to be accepted into the Navy if you have not met the high school graduate or high school equivalency requirements. To be admitted as a non-high school graduate, you must score markedly higher on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) than high school graduates and is subject to strict numerical controls. The ASVAB is taken by all Navy applicants and used to determine, among other things, which careers applicants qualify for based on aptitude to be trained for those careers. If you have questions, contact a recruiter.

No you have to have one or the other. 97% of the regular grunts have a diploma or ged and the rest have college degrees.

I was going to go into the Navy once about 25 years ago and they helped me get my GED. You might talk to them.

no, contrary to popular belief. The military is not for unintelligent people. It requires some sense of self awareness. Finish school, and remember what gi joe says, that knowing is half the battle.

Yes, you can join on a waiver if you score good on the ASVAB. Your recruiter shouldbe able to handle this, especially with recruitment being down.
Don't listen to people that say you will for sure be on the front lines, MOS designations are based on the ASVAB scores and immediate needs. Again, your recruiter should be able to help you with this.
