I don't normally but lettuce but when I do, it gets used right up, so I need to know what the best way to keep it fresh the longest is. Thanks

never "cut" lettuce with a knife, only tear it..it will preserve the head longer. Also, a good tip for washing it good is soak the pieces you are going to use in a salt/water solution. It takes all the "dirt" tast out of it. and store lettuce in a ziploc WITH air in the bag. it will make it last a little longer too. Hope this helps!

I think if you keep it in a sealed bag it will keep fresh for the longest. Yeah i have experience with lettuce going bad, in fact it always does cause i don't bag it, but other stuff does keep fresh if i bag it

I have the same problem and what I do now is before refrigerating, I break it up and rinse the leaves then store in a ziploc bag. (lettuce still tends to go bad pretty quickly no matter how you store it).

Wash and separate the leaves (like above), blot them dry with a paper towel and then wrap the whole lot in a slightly damp papertowel and put in a ziploc (and close it). I always store mine with the stem down- have no idea if that's a must. And, don't spin it in a salad spinner- that bruises it which will speed up spoilage...

I put mine in a Ziploc bag and keep it in the vegetable bin in the fridge. It stays fresh that way too.

In the crisper drawer in your fridge! You could even toss it in a ziploc too
