I'm not saying which side of the god issue I lie on, I just want to see how people generally would imagine god to look like. Even if god is just a spirit it must look like something.

When I was little, I used to see God as an old kind man with white clothes and a white beard. Sitting on a cloud dangling his legs. :o)

Yes, our Creator is a Spirit. (John 4:24). However, he kindly does describe himself in physical terms for us humans to grasp.

Rev 4:3 "And the one seated is, in appearance, like a jasper stone [yellow] and a prescious redcolored stone, and round about the throne (there is) a rainbow like an emerald [green] in appearance."

This gives us an idea of Gods glory and the peace (green) surrounding him.

He is also described in the book of Daniel:

"The Ancient of Days sat down. His clothing was white just like snow, and the hair of his head was like clean wool. His throne was flames of fire;its wheels were a burning fire. There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him. There were a thousand thousands that kept ministering to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him." - Dan 7:9,10.

This description gives us a further idea of Gods authority, his glory, his holiness and all the angels surrounding him.

The Bible says that no man can see God and live so it's pointless to speculate. The closest we come to is a description of Jesus in Revelation.
Rev 1:14
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15.And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16.And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

If that's what we CAN know, then the rest must be breathtaking!!!

I prefer the Ellen Degeneras idea of God: Big black woman in her mid 40's, wearing a toga and house slippers.

But that is if you are thinking about the christian God. I, personally, am of the kemetic orthodox faith, so god takes different forms, depending on its message. God doesnt have a gender in my religion, so referring to it as a him or her would be incorrect.

Let the power of my enchanted ring enlighten you...MOST ONE-GOD BASED RELIGIONS DON'T SEE GOD IN A PHYSICAL FORM. CHRISTIANITY MAYBE THE EXCEPTION IF YOU BELIEVE JESUS WAS INCARNATE OF GOD...you have been release from my enchanted ring.
