My son will turn 8 in February and he is a bedwetter too.
Bedwetting can be normal up to about age 10. Having parents who were bedwetters as kids also makes the child more likely to be a bedwetter.
Have you talked to your doctor about it? Have you seen a urologist and had a urinalysis and an ultrasound done to make sure there are no "plumbing problems" that need to be addressed? Considered chiropractic or DHA supplements? (Two things that helped my son.)
If it's only when it's cold, do you think a heated blanket would help? Maybe just turn it on BEFORE bed to warm the bed up really good and then turn it off? (I had an electric blanket as a kid but I don't remember how young I was so I'm not sure what age is considered appropriate?)

My brother was 12 before he finally outgrew wetting the bed. My son is almost 7 and he still wets on a regular basis. Theres always a chance that it could be a medical problem so you should have it checked out to rule it out. Otherwise it's just something that has to be waited out with a lot of patience.

His bladder is not mature yet. Time is all you need . My son just stopped all of a sudden at 10 years old. I did all I was supposed to do. I just had to be patient and remember it's not his fault. I'm sure he doesn't want to wet the bed either. Try to stay away from goodnights. It doesn't teach them to realize they are wet. You may want to wake up in the middle of the night to take him to the bathroom. That helped my son. Good luck

Get him flannel PJs with the feet and make him wear an undershirt. I would also take him in to see a doc maybe even a uriologist. The muscles which control the flow of urine may be weak or not fully developed.

Does he seem like an ordinary 8-year-old in every other way? Anyway, take him to a pediatrician and explain what you've observed.
It may be that he can be helped with an alarm like the "wee alert" alarm, which wakes up a bedwetter. I'll patch in a link, but you may just want to google "wee alert."

take him to a doctor and make sure that nothing is wrong. but it is normal for kids to wet the bed even in their teen years. (beleve me I know). get him some of the goodnites pants and dont make it a big deal.

just by him some goodnites/ drynites.
some boys are bed wetters, just something you will have to live with, its a bit unusual that the temprature sets him off but nothing suprizes me with kids anymore
if by the age of 10 he has not grown out of it - consult a doctor

My son would do that when the weather changed. Buy him Good nights to wear until he grows out of it. As long as there isn't anything physical wrong with him he will grow out of it.

maybe he is sick, example: in my school the p.e teacher makes us seat on the ground outside in the winter and that is really bad, my friend got sick and know she can't have children and she wets her bed also, do see a doctor
