i guess Windows Media Player 10 but if you want my suggestion try DIVX Player. you can download it for free from here :

You can usually play AVI videos in all standard video players, but it depends on what codecs you have on your computer.

Even though they were saved as an AVI, whoever made the file may have a codec you don't have, if your computer is not playing the file. You can simply look at the properties of the file to see what type of codec it is and download it.

VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ) is a solid choice. It plays a majority of multimedia files.

I prefer to use Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/ ). Note that with MPC, it plays AVI files but doesn't come with codecs. The idea is that you have the appropriate codecs installed on your system. So if get an AVI file with XviD for video and AAC for audio, you need to get the XviD and AAC decoders.
