I am not sure about this law...I live in New Hampshire. Contact the Legal Advice and Referral Center...they will be able to tell you. They are in New Hampshire...if you want their number, email me.

Last I knew the police just calls a tow company and I never knew you could pick who you wanted.

Thats the law in every state. The cops will swear in court it isnt, but it is. The Citizen has the right to choose who and what takes possesion of anything that is not to be used against him in a case. That is like 17th century law.
One of the Amendments, says, a Citizen has the right to be sucure in his papers anhd possesions, there is some before and after that part, but its the one you are looking for, or the base of it.
Some cop in Miami tried to pull that on me, said it was the local law and whatever, I stated that I wanted to use a telephone to call my preffered towing service, he called a Lt, the Lt said, yes, I was correct and the right of choice was mine.
If your State Legislature has made a new law that ovverides the Original Constitution of the USA, well it happens. I would have to study NH law, my advice as allways is ask an Attorney in your State.
