My BMR is something like 1350. I am 5'4" and weigh 116. I would like to lose that extra 6 pounds. Lately I have been eating less than 1000 calories a day, and I know that if I continue that it will slow down my metabolism. If I exercise, will that speed up my metabolism and cancel out the slowed metabolism caused by eating less? And please don't tell me I don't need to lose weight...I just want answers to my question. Thanks! :)

The main secret is to eat more often. Take your 1000 calories and divide by 8 giving you 125. So when you get up in the morning, eat 125 calories to get your metabolism boosted. Then go run for half an hour. Wait an hour or so and eat another 125 calories. Every couple of hours eat 125 calories. This keeps your digestive metabolism moving. Also make sure you are drinking plenty of pure water between meals. The water keeps the toxins flushed from your system, and keeps your metabolism moving because you will have to keep running to the bathroom. Make sure you eat fiber to help pull the toxins out of your system.
