RE:
Does unopened alcohol such as whiskey expire/go bad?

Geez, I hope not -- I have a bottle of Jim Beam in the basement that has been around for almost two years. Seriously though, I don't think unopened liquor goes bad. Heck, they have to age the stuff in barrels or casks to turn it into whiskey, right? And don't they age scotch for 12 years or more? And isn't the older brandy supposed to be so much better than "newer" brandy? So my guess is that it'll be fine as long as the seal is still intact.

beer goes bad, and so does rum (eventually- it takes years, and is more likely to happen with the sweet stuff). Whiskey does not. Unopened bottles of wine don't go bad, but you only have a few days once they've been opened. Even opened bottles of whiskey don't go bad.

As long as it's unopened, it will remain good indefinitely. It will not age or impove, but it will not go bad. Aging only occurs while it's in a wooden cask.

Whiskey in an unopened bottle will not go bad nor will it age (IE. get better once it's been bottled).
