They mean that many of the Bible stories are stories which predate Christianity, and were told by many of the polytheistic groups throughout the Medditeranean world and the Middle East. The story of the Virgin Birth, and of many of Christ's miracles - these can be found in the mythology of many other groups predating the Bible.

The Old Testament, too, has pagan (that is, polytheistic) roots. Especially in the earlier books, a lot of God's energy is spent denouncing various practices which were common among polytheistic tribes (worshipping idols, worshipping multiple Gods, child sacrifice, etc). I think that Exodus even refers to Yahweh killing off the Egyptian gods. If you want an interesting discussion of these issues, I'd recommend reading H.L. Mencken's "Treatise on the Gods." He was a lively writer, and a well read scholar. You should be able to find it cheap on Amazon or half.com, or in most libraries.

Paganism has been around for thousands and thousands of years. Long before the bible was written pagans worshipped what they knew as saviors....born of virgin, dying, ressurected. Pagans have practiced baptism, the eucharist and believed in heaven and hell for millenia. People today think that christianity was new and had new concepts, however that is not at all the truth. If you are willing to look deep into history you will see that christianity is actually an ancient pagan religion in new clothes. For starters read this:

the truth of the problem is that for the period of Roman career, Christians needed to rejoice in mystery. So they selected a Roman vacation to rejoice the beginning of Christ in order that they could no longer be spotted and would freely rejoice the beginning of Christ with out disturbing approximately being tortured and martyred for it. The date caught. It does not topic if it is not the specified equal day that Christ used to be born. For one there used to be no calendar like the only now we have at present within the time of Christ. They could not precisely placed a month and day to something again then in view that the times weren't recorded that means. What concerns is the purpose of our pleasure. If we selected to rejoice the beginning of Christ on August fifteenth alternatively of December twenty fifth it could make no change. It is the reason of the get together that concerns, no longer the date of it.

It means they have no understanding at all about what The Bible is... or for whom it is intended...The Bible of The True Christian Faith is not intended for the non-believer. Only those open to the leading of The Holy Spirit will find, in The Bible, What God has for them within it's pages.... all others will find nothing for them there.

Everything christian is Pagan-based. Nothing in christianity is original, except for spreading monotheistic ideas and such.

I'm pagan. I'm a witchcraft practitioner. Nothing wrong with it.

Sacrifice is often considered pagan. Sacrifices go as far back as Cain and Abel and as messed as Abraham almost sacrificing his son.

Much of the OT can be traced to non-Hebrew sources (e.g. the Epic of Gilgamesh, Hammurabi's Code). If Moses wrote it, he plagiarized it.
