Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie might be a good place to start. It sort of a fable for children, so it won't challenge your racist bigot with too many pages or words. It was the first thing Mr Rushdie published after he had the fatwa put on his head and he had to go into hiding for saying things that extremists didn't want to hear. So it is also about how dangerous it is to shut people up when they speak their mind, and about how it is important to live and let live.
and it is beautifully written.

Put a bow on your butt and say this gift is an _ _ _hole for an _ _ _hole. Then start looking at the want ads. I for one would not be happy working for a racist bigot .
