dosnt it make u mad that people say that there gonna kill there pet cuz they caint take it with them or the just dont want it. it makes me VERY mad. i get so irratated. i dont see y they caint just make a quick stop to the shelter or vets. no matter how far. i hate people who do that dont u. i would never do that to my pets im an animal love not an animal hater.

That does really bother me.That being said,if someone has a pet for a substantial amount of time and then up and decides that they no longer want it,it would probably be humane to euthanize it.I looked after a dog for my local animal shelter one time that was owned by a soldier who was posted.He had the dog for 8 years and when he left it at the animal shelter the dog couldn't cope.It was heartbroken and started taking on bad habits like becoming very aggressive towards it's blanket and other dogs etc.I am one of the biggest animal lovers you would ever want to meet,but i think that having an animal for a long period of time and then deciding that it is an inconvenience is one of the worst forms of torture for an animal.How would you like to live with your family for 10 or 12 years and then be given away?

I think that there are just too many people who see a cute little kitten, puppy or what have you and they have to have it, no idea of what they are in for or how to take care of it, Then they are so lazy that they can't pick up a book and read a little to learn what to do, or ask someone for advice. The pet grows up, has learned nothing and is out of control, I have also seen people that just tire of feeding for the poor thing! Pets are work and take time, if you are a pet person I think it just comes to you naturally! I love animals, the sad thing is that there are far too many people who cant take care of an animal and then they go and have children that they are too dumb to take care of as well! I have only given away three animals in my life. I broke my neck and needed an operation, I was told that I would never fully recover, I found a good home for my 13 year old trained bunny, and my two cats. I kept my bird and my dogs, I know the bunny still is alive she is 15 years old now, the cats are with a little old lady and she spoiles them rotten.

Yeah, it makes me mad, it makes me sick, and it makes me just want to go get that dog right now!
I feel the same way knowing that wonderful dogs die every day in animal shelters while people go buy purebred puppies for 600 freakin' dollars, even if they aren't ready for a pet.
Ack! Now I'm really ruffled.

Well, abuse i dont stand for but if you have an old dog i think its okay to get it youthenized... Would you rather have the dog suffer at a shelter? Not many people i've seen have wanted an old dog when they know its going to die soon anyway. I hope that doesnt sound cruel but its the truth!

same here . i love animals.you cant help but feel sorry for them.i would never hurt any animal. if they didnt want it they should never have bought it in the first place. thats what shelters are for.

i agree 100 percent. i can't stand to watch shows on t.v. where the owners abuse their pets and it sometimes leads to death. UHHHHH!!!
