I just read your other question, tea tree oil will kill the lice and nits. Please either see a herbalist or health store clear to make sure you get the real stuff. After that you just pour the oil in their hairs and yours to. let it sit, you see them falling out of your hair. comb through until you comb clean. after that wash your hair with tea tree shampoo and conditioner, than oil your scalp again. Also get rid of the cause of the lice, wash all of your things, clothes, bed linen, car, and dust your yard. Find the source of the lice since they keep coming back.....

It does both. You put a few drops of concentrated tea tree oil (available at most health food stores) in your regular shampoo. It has a strong minty smell that the lice do not like. It suffocates the nits. You can also run a little bit around the hair line like before they go to school, they will smell like mint but the lice will leave them alone. This really does work if you use it regularly. Also use a blow dryer to dry your kids hair after bath, the heat also helps kill the bugs and the nits.

I was told by my doctor to first use the lice shampoo, follow the steps on the package. Then once a day put manayse on your hair and leave it for an hour, wash, and then use the lice comb, to pull out the dead bugs. I know it sounds gross but it works. I guess the manayse sufficates the bugs.

No, tea tree oil does not work against lice, nor do any other essential oils. This is a myth. Buy yourself an anti-lice shampoo, they are affordable (cheaper than tea tree oil) and work very well.
