Okay I am having a complete panic attack.
I have got the straightest natural teeth I have ever seen on my top row, but my bottom teeth are bad and they already have braces on them what do you think will happen.
Will I need to get top braces too. I am only 12 but am worried, because if I am not so fond of the bottom braces I know I will hate the top ones too. please help me. I need to know if I need top ones, but since I have bottoms some people have already said I need top ones. I have perfectly straight top teeth but the top and bottom incisors don't line up, plus I have a bad overbite (I could fit my pinky through it before the brackets were placed.) DO I NEED TOP BRACES :(

Only your orthadontist can answer that. You might have problems with your top teeth that you cant see, only he/she can. But if you *really* dont want them ,talk to your parents and tell them how you feel, because he cant put them on if your parents tell him not to. But if you have to get them , dont worry about it. You're young, and they probably wont be on your top teeth for that long, if at all. I didn't get my braces til i was 18..And didn't get them off until I was 23. Be glad you're getting it over with now.

Be confident. If you say, "Yeah, they are soo ugly on me" then that makes it a lot easier for people to make fun of you. Almost everyone looks a little funny when they first get braces, but then after a little while you can't even remember what they looks like without braces, right? I might be getting braces soon and I'm pretty sure I will look pretty stupid. But I hate my teeth so if the results are good I don't care! Think of the results and you will feel better.

I don’t know but you should talk to your dentist or orthodontist about this problem I would have to see it to know for sure. And there not that bad having top and bottom braces you will get use to them. And no one here would be able to answer this question unless there had a look at your teeth . Happy Christmas anyway . Hi Im Only 12 Too. I Also Need Braces But I dnt reely no your answer some people do and some ppl dont buh dnt worry if you need them because this wont destroy your gorgeus top teeth. Like me theres nothing rong with my bottom ones but i have to get them cause of me overbite..:D:D And If youve alredy gorr bottom ones on they surely would have done it all at once :S:S

you might...but think of it this way...it'll be for such a small part of your life...and plus it's better to get it over with.
When I was in college I had braces for 2 years because I had a serious underbite and had to undergo an 8 hour jaw surgery...and that took about 4 weeks to be able to eat and talk but reflecting back it was sooo worth it.
Anyways, bottom line is that it's a small amount of inconvience for a lifetime of feeling better about the way you look.

It would be wise to get a complete set of braces , If your parents have a good insurance company or alot of money to spend. You can get Invis-a-line braces. They are kind of plastic braces , they work as good as other braces , But they aren't noticable. The only way to see them is if some one gets really close to you..
So get Invis-a-line , if braces are an issue for you. It seems it is since you won't get braces for the top of your teeth.
If you think you don't need them , then you need them. Listen to other peoples opinions instead of your own.

sorry to say but since you have an overbite that means you'll probably need both top and bottom braces to fix that...braces aren't that bad though. i had mine for a year and i actually liked having them on.

having super straight teeth doesnt mean u dont need braces. if ur teeth dont like up, you can expect to get braces
i shouldnt be that bad. at least ull get it over iwth in middle school.. high school is where the action begins :) and then college when it gets even more interestin if u no what i mean

no some people only need bottom braces.
however, sometimes they may look straight but not be really straight. It depends on what your orthodontist wants you to get.. but yes.. it is possible that you will only need bottom braces.

I jus got out of my braces. i really enjoyed them. more than likely u will need top braces and probaly a retainer.
