I believe a half bottle is a split, a 375 ml rather than a 750 ml

Sherry, Malaga is different from Pale, Dry, Cream and Fino. it is a bit sweet and has nutty taste, Solera refers to the way they blend sherry, taking old and new and mixing them over time to make a certain flavour and quality.

Sherry like port gets better with age, but I doubt it is from 1886, being open it would have evaporated quite a bit if so, enjoy it as a appetif or sip it after dinner like port or a nice brandy or liquer.

guaranteed vinegar by now. not drinkable
I wouldn't drink bourbon from 1885 if it wasn't sealed since God knows when! Maybe a quickie sip, swirt and wpit just to prove apoint but dron but refrigerate anyway
