Some say they receive violations but at the same time I see some really trashy questions that should have gotten violations. What's going on? As long as we keep the quality of this service up it will continue in good stead.

It's sooo true. So much sneaks by Yahoo! that shouldn't, and yet there are questions that get violations that probably shouldn't. It's up to people to report and sadly people are more inclined to report someone they disagree with than someone who actually violates.

I have had a couple of violations that I really didn't understand.

I do network consulting for a living and I was told that I was insulting other participants because I told the guy his computer was too old to be worth fixing. I was giving the guy real advice that he would have paid over a hundred dollars and hour for if he had hired me. The hardware alone would have been a couple hundred dollars and he wasn't capable of putting it in himself, so you could tack on about $150 in labor. This for a laptop that I've given better to Goodwill.

I was right on with the advice and it wasn't insulting at all.
